A sound moving too quickly for neat labels
Jungle drew on breakbeat hardcore, reggae sound-system culture, dub, hip-hop, techno and many other sources. As production and scenes developed, drum & bass became a useful name for a widening range of approaches.
The archive avoids presenting that change as a clean replacement. Different terms, sounds and communities overlapped across sets and events.
