A different room, a different pressure

Rollers added more than floor area. Its proportions and original function gave it a character distinct from the main Sanctuary room, reinforcing the sense that moving arenas meant entering another event.

As the complex expanded, the route between rooms became part of the experience: a night assembled through choices rather than watched from one fixed position.

Reconstructing the room

Future event records will identify which line-ups were assigned to Rollers and how that changed over time. Floor plans, photographs and first-hand accounts should be dated and attributed wherever possible.
